Chocolate Chip Cookies
I have a confession to make: I don’t like 99% of the chocolate chip cookies out there. Given a choice, I will pick just about any other cookie. So I set about creating a chocolate chip cookie I liked.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 sticks salted butter, softened
- 1/2 c white sugar
- 3/4 c brown sugar
- 1 tsp imitation almond extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 bag milk chocolate chips
Directions
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.Beat butter, white and brown sugar in a bowl until creamy. Mix in first egg and the almond extract, then the second egg.
Mix the flour mixture into the butter mixture in batches until you’ve added everything and the dough is making you crave cookie batter. Mix in chocolate chips.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until very lightly browned. Cool on wire racks until you can eat them, but cool completely before you store them.
When cooled, the cookies should have crispy edges and soft middles.
